Taking care of the environment

SUE "Lenoblvodokanal" works every day to improve the ecological state in the Leningrad region, developing the quality and level of wastewater treatment. The work is carried out in several directions and is supported at the international, federal, regional levels.

First, the enterprise faces the task of building new, as well as reconstruction and overhaul of existing sewage and treatment facilities. The pilot project, financially supported by the Federal Fund for Assistance to Reforming Housing and Communal Services, was the reconstruction of the wastewater treatment station in Podporozhye. Modern technology includes mechanical treatment, wastewater homogenization, biological treatment with removal of biogenic elements, ultraviolet disinfection, post-treatment on sand filters. Works improving the quality of wastewater treatment are planned in Boksitogorsky, Volkhovsky, Vyborgsky, Gatchinsky, Kirovsky, Lodeynopolsky, Luga, Priozersky, Tikhvin districts of the Leningrad region.

Second, all Baltic countries are interested in improving the ecological state of the Gulf of Finland. “Lenoblvodokanal” cooperates with international partners. Participation in the Cross-Border Cooperation Programme “South-East Finland – Russia” made it possible to start the construction of a centralized water supply and sewage system in the Petrovsky district in Vyborg, including engineering networks in the Morepos Park. In the near future, the company will apply for a grant in one of the priority areas of this program - attractive, clean environment and region. Due to this, it is planned to improve the work of sewage treatment facilities in Vyborg.

Furthermore, work with customers - legal entities - also helps to improve ecological state. The experts in wastewater control constantly conduct research to determine the quality of the wastewater. If the permissible concentration of hazardous substances entering the sewage system and treatment facilities is exceeded, customers are obliged to pay an additional fee. A number of enterprises meet Lenoblvodokanal's proposals and install local treatment facilities on their territory, which make it possible to bring the quality of wastewater to the standard.

Lenoblvodokanal also pays attention to territories where there are no centralized drainage systems yet - these are mainly individual residential buildings. In addition to the implementation of plans for the construction of new pipelines, the sewage pumping stations and the waste water treatment stations, employees of Lenoblvodokanal provide high-quality additional services. For example, pumping out septic tanks and flushing wells is one of the most demanded services. The experience of our specialists allows us to provide promptly high level services.

SUE Lenoblvodokanal operates in 12 districts of the Leningrad region: Boksitogorsky, Vyborgsky, Kirovsky, Lodeynopolsky, Luga, Podporozhsky, Priozersky, Slantsevsky, Tikhvinsky, as well as in a number of settlements in Vsevolozhsky, Gatchinsky, Kirovsky districts.
